    UAE and Egypt discuss defense industry cooperation

    During his official visit to Egypt, Major General Dr. Mubarak Saeed bin Ghafan Al Jabri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Support and Defence Industries at the UAE Ministry of Defence, met with Major General Kamal Wafaa Radwan, Head of the Egyptian Ministry of Defence Armament Authority. The two sides exchanged views on ways to strengthen overall relations between the UAE and Egypt, especially in the defence sector.

    UAE and Egypt discuss defense industry cooperationBoth sides stressed their desire to exchange relevant expertise during their discussion. Defence companies from both countries discussed mutual cooperation, legislation, and mechanisms for facilitating business between them and integrating their research and development. In addition, Major General Al Jabri invited Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, to Abu Dhabi for the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) and Naval Defence Exhibition and Conference (NAVDEX) 2023.

    Egypt’s plans to encourage local industrialisation, utilize Egyptian technologies, and promote the concept of “Made in Egypt” were addressed at the exhibition by the Emirati delegation. As part of the meeting, the two countries discussed the future of their defence industries. This included entrepreneurship, advanced technologies, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, training citizen cadres, establishing strategic partnerships with international producers, and supporting research.
