As container terminals across the Middle East move toward increasingly autonomous operations, the ability to maintain vehicle localization without satellite positioning is becoming an important consideration. In March 2026, Westwell achieved normal autonomous operations under Zero-GNSS conditions at CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal (CSP ADT) at Khalifa Port. The milestone builds on Westwell’s automation program operations at CSP ADT, with a fleet of 12 Q-Trucks and six Q-Chassis (IGV). The GNSS-independent operation combines LiDAR, odometry, and IMU data to maintain vehicle localization and navigation without GNSS input.
