Air Arabia is set to restart daily nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, India, starting October 16, 2026. This move reestablishes a direct air route connecting the UAE emirate with the coastal city in Kerala. Announced on October 6, the airline stated that tickets for the route are now available for booking. The daily flights will link Ras Al Khaimah International Airport with Kozhikode International Airport in southern India.

The carrier highlighted that the resumed route will enable passengers to enjoy direct daily flights between the UAE and India. Kozhikode, also called Calicut, is located on Kerala’s Malabar Coast in southern India. Details regarding departure and arrival times were not included in the October 6 announcement, nor did the airline specify the aircraft type or flight numbers for this daily service. Such specifics were missing from the latest statement as well.
Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, expressed his satisfaction with the route’s revival. He emphasized that the daily service will provide travelers with a convenient link between the two cities. Al Ali also reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to offering dependable travel options and fostering community connections. The route’s return was driven by travel demand between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, though passenger forecasts or traffic data were not disclosed.
Restoring Kerala Connectivity with Daily Flights
This Kozhikode route complements Air Arabia’s existing nonstop network from Ras Al Khaimah, which currently includes destinations such as Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar. The reintroduction of the India service will expand this list starting October 16. Since beginning operations at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in May 2014, Air Arabia has maintained the emirate as one of its UAE bases.
The airline initially launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode on November 22, 2023, operating three times weekly with Airbus A320 aircraft. These flights operated on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays under flight numbers G9 728 and G9 729. The 2026 restart will elevate the service to a daily schedule, although the airline has yet to confirm whether the same flight numbers or departure times will be used for the resumed flights.
Advance Booking Available Before October Resumption
Passengers can secure bookings for the resumed flights through Air Arabia’s official website, call center, or authorized travel agencies. The airline confirmed these options when announcing the October return. The statement did not specify when the previous service was suspended or the reasons behind the interruption. Additionally, fares, specific operating times, and aircraft details for the new daily flights remain undisclosed. The airline’s announcement primarily focused on the restart date, frequency, and the direct city pairing.
This October 16 revival marks the return of Kozhikode to Air Arabia’s Ras Al Khaimah network nearly three years after the route’s initial launch. The service will once again offer a nonstop connection between Ras Al Khaimah and Kerala. While the airline confirmed daily flights from the restart date, other schedule specifics are still to be announced. Travelers interested in precise timings, flight numbers, or fares are advised to check the airline’s booking channels for current information. No further route modifications have been announced at this time.
